  • offer instructions for completing an application, obtaining your university transcript(s), and registering for the TExES Content Test of your choice.  You are required to pass this test PACT (pre-admission certification test).

Our program is for adults who have obtained a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and now have the goal of becoming a certified teacher.  We value your goal and are eager to help you get started!  So make plans now to provide us with the following:

  • Your university transcript(s) showing ALL coursework with grades and credits earned from an accredited university, as well as the date your Bachelor's Degree was conferred. Please provide official transcripts!  NOTE:  If you attended more than one university, make sure that the transfer coursework (course titles, grades, and credits) is shown on your transcript.  Otherwise, you will need to bring in trancripts from all colleges/universities.

Prior to approving you for enrollment, we will:

  • review your completed application & TExES Content Test PACT passing score
  • evaluate your official transcript(s).  A 2.5 is required for your cumulative GPA or for your final 60 hours of coursework.
  • administer our admission test, the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Skills Appraisal, and score it.  No studying or preparation is required for this test!
  • determine your eligibility for approval for the ACT Houston/Dallas/Austin program and,
  • hopefully, extend to you a Letter of Approval outlining the steps for certification!

Remember that we are here to help you quickly reach your goal of becoming a certified teacher!

NOTE: Before being hired to teach or placed for clinical teaching, school districts will conduct a criminal history background check.  A criminal record will jeopardize your eligibility for employment and participation in this program.
